June 2001:
These are my creations for the month of June, 2001.
Home Planet
Done for the weekly Project Imagination theme at alt.binaries.3d.bryce.
100% Bryce with no post production (other than the title at the bottom).
Foot Path
Done for Flickerstreaks Bryce forum challenge. 100% Bryce 5. The only post
production is the title at the bottom.
Crossed Fingers
Another 100% Bryce 5. I used metaballs to create the hand and fingers.
Mirror Tray
I did the mirror tray for Tony Lynch's mirror/mirror challenge. I modeled and rendered
in Ray Dream (Carrara).
Information
I drew this in Photoshop at a time when we were going through a redesign at work
and I had been spending the entire day working on web site icons.
Waterfall
I did this piece during the beta test of Bryce 5. It was mostly a test of metaballs
(the waterfall) and trees.
Country
Wall
I did "Country Wall" to test how well the trees rendered under close scrutiny. The render
itself was rather boring so I did some post work in Photoshop to add some texture and to
mute some of the colors.
Aloha... Wish You Were Here
I was doing a test render of the palm trees and the depth of field focus. The resulting picture reminded me of a postcard so that's what I turned it into.
Snake
on a Rock
I made the snake out of metaballs. This render was another test of the DOF.
Cocoon
I wanted to test how metaballs would work with multireplication. The result reminded
me of a cocoon so I stuck it in a tree. In retrospect the tree should have been larger for
a better sense of scale.
Mind Warp 3D
I had a dream about being on a space station made from an asteroid. Looking out the window
I saw a spiral and glass tree and ultimately a moon.
Mind
Warp 3
Here is the Photoshop version of the same dream inspired picture. I think the Bryce
version is a better represention of what I dreamt.
Mangrove 1
I did Mangrove as another beta test render.
Glass Art 1
I built these items out of Bryce primatives and boolean operations. I then gussied up the
render in Photoshop.
Entrance
I built this all in Bryce. By setting up spheres as topiaries and then converting the spheres
to trees in the edit section I was able to get the staked trees that I wanted. By using flowers
as a custom leaf I was able to get a nice potted plant for the doorway.
