September 2001: Four
Chairs Four Chairs was a test render for a larger project. At the time I was working on complex, "full room" type scenes which involved modeling objects over the course of many days. I've since switched more to concentrating on doing a good job on modeling one object and then reusing the others that I have on hand. Then I slowly build up a library of interchangeable objects. Stars and StripesSomeone posted a challenge on the alt.binaries.3d.bryce group to do a patriotic / "stars and stripes" type image. I took the challenge literally and chose to do some stripes on a star back drop rather than doing yet another flag render. Red
Chairs Here is the Red Room project again, this time with the newly modeled chairs to replace the wooden ones I had used in "Four Chairs." Pacifica
Fog
I started with a Bryce render of the view from what once was the computer room of our Pacifica apartment (before it became Sean's bedroom). To mimic the thickest of the fog I brought the image into Photoshop to simplify the colors and to bring out the edges. Caligula Napping
Caligula used to like to nap on the top of my computer monitor. I drew this portrait of her in Painter on one of those nights when she slept up there. Unexpected
Arrival This is a Bryce / Painter piece and it's very rough and rather cheesy but I like it because it helped me work out some of the aspects of a uniform I was trying to describe. So forgive me for my sentimental posting of a rubbish drawing. For Whom the Bell Tolls...
I think this might have bene my first Carrara model. After ages of not modeling anything new in Ray Dream, I had gotten back into using the program and then upgraded when Eovia bought the company and program from Metacreations. I did this simple bell just to try out the program and remind myself of how things work. My Bananas are Bigger than your BananasHere is the Bryce version of the cigar-banana picture. It was rendered in the "Red Room" project. Chrismtas Tree BellI was inspired by a catalogue offer for a Christmas bell shaped very similarly to the one here that I modeled and rendered in Carrara. Christmas
Tree Bell by the Window Here is the bell rendered in the Red Room project. It is sitting on the side table I created for the Interior Blue Project. Red
Fruit I drew this fruit bowl in Painter for use as a hanging painting in the Alcove Project (See October). This site updated October 2005 All art © 1999-2005 by Sarah Sammis. |
