Dormatory WindowsDormitory Windows
Drawn with Photoshop. I used motion and Gaussian blurs and some layer mats to bring out the lamp's brightness.

This render is my final test render of Planet Farmham. I will be offering Farmham as a challenge planet later this year.

Created June 1-2, 2005

Three TinsThree Tins
These spotted dry goods tins are inspired by a set of tins sold by Ikea. I created the spotted texture in Illustrator. The tins themselves are Bryce primitives booleaned together.

Created June 3-4, 2005

A Man's Night InA Man's Night In
The milliner's dummy is one of the most complex models I've made in the vertex editor. I don't know why nearly a decade later the vertex editor is finally clicking with me, but it is. The image was inspired by a story about advertising I heard on Market Place.

Created June 7, 2005

Snake OilSnake Oil
The green bottle with its stopper is my latest Carrara model. I had originally thought of doing a stark interior (photo shoot style) render but decided the bottles looked more appropriate outside.

Created June 9-10, 2005

Red DoorRed Door
Drawn with Photoshop. The handle was the hardest part getting it to look like brushed metal.

Created June 13, 2005

LeavesLeaves
Drawn with Photoshop. I mostly used various natural brushes to "dab" in the colors for the leaves.

Created June 14, 2005

CautionCaution
Drawn with Photoshop. The orange reflector isn't quite as round as I would have liked but I'm pleased with everything else.

Created June 15, 2005

SpringSpring
Drawn with Photoshop. I used the air brush a great deal in this one.

Created June 16, 2005

Bell TelephoneBell Telephone
A drawing of an old icon on a city street corner somewhere.

Created June 17, 2005

Green and PurpleGreen and Purple
These lumpy green chairs are my latest venture into Carrara's vertex modeler. They're a little clunky but I learned a great deal while working on them.

Created June 19, 2005

WalkingWalking
Another Photoshop drawing. I used Gaussian blur to put give a sense of distance between the person walking (the foot) and the people standing on the horizon.

Created June 20, 2005

KoiKoi
Drawn with Photoshop. Here I used layer blends and ripple distortions to give the feeling of light and water.

Created June 21, 2005

WildflowersWildflowers
Another Photoshop drawing of flowers. I like the color combinations of yellows and oranges against the bright blue sky.

Created June 23, 2005

Night Time WalkNight Time Walk
This piece is my first MojoWorld render in a number of weeks. I played with the hue and saturation from this render of the Challenge 187 planet to bring out the details of the night time sky. Created June 24, 2005
