July 2007 Viscera I am continuing my exploration of the panoramic rendering feature of Bryce. This time I built my scene with tori, spheres and elongated cubes. Created July 1, 2007 Barber Shop I am enjoying drawing again in Photoshop. This time I mostly used the rectangular marquee and the line tool. Created July 2, 2007 The Long Valley My piece is named for the Salinas Valley (just as the Steinbeck book is) as it is one of the most beautiful and fascinating places in California I've ever seen. It's also the setting (or inspiration) for my Nanowrimo for this November. The panoramic view of my Bryce render is an attempt to visualize some of the more surreal aspects I have planned for my story. Created July 4-6, 2007 VisageI am enjoying drawing again in Photoshop. I used the line tool for the mannequin's head and the shape blur tool for the background. I really like the glow that came about from the blurring. Created July 7, 2007 GeorgiaI did another drawing in Photoshop. I like focusing on pieces and details, rather than the "whole picture." For Georgia I concentrated on the feet. I used custom shapes for the flowers on the grass. Created July 9, 2007 TrioI felt like doing another still life to take a break from all the panoramic abstracts I've been doing in Bryce. Created July 12, 2007 Quod erat peram I was inspired by a painting called "Cozy Pears" and decided to do something similar in Bryce. Created July 13, 2007 I Remember You The title comes from a Nat King Cole song and the image itself is inspired by a painting I saw earlier today called "Bowl of Cherries." Created July 18, 2007 Left Behind This time I wanted to see if I could make a cherry. I created a simplistic one using Bryce primitives booleaned together with a lattice for the stem. Then I cleaned up my render in Photoshop. It's not perfect but I'm very pleased with the result. Created July 21, 2007 Red Shoes Drawn tonight in Photoshop. I mostly used the pen and gradient tools but I also used a custom dynamic brush for the foliage behind the walkway. Created July 22, 2007 Salinas Valley Inspired by our recent road trip the "long valley" en route to Santa Barbara. Created July 24, 2007 HeirloomInspired by a painting I saw today. I thought I would see if my tomato model and plate models were up to the challenge of being rendered at this angle. I made a few adjustments to the stem of the tomato and am quite pleased with how it looks. Buy a copy of "Heirloom" for your wall. Created July 27, 2007 Orange Slices I wanted to see if I could model an orange slice. It took a couple attempts before getting something I was happy with. The render took abou a day to complete.
