Tomorrow! 09/04/06
This is weekend is our last as a family of three. This post will also probably be my last one until the end of the week. Tomorrow I go into the hospital for my scheduled C-section. Yesterday we did our last errands as a family of three including a trip to the lab for one last blood draw; they wanted to check my blood type (A+) and iron count.
Afterwards we headed to the bank and then to Carrow's for a late breakfast. With the new Target nearly finished and a new parking lot, the restaurant is doing business like they haven't done in more than a year. Only the diehards kept coming through the worst of the construction but now that things are nearly done there was a line out the door after we were seated!
Before the construction began the area around Carrow's consisted of an abandoned movie theater and a motel that was clearly a place for drug sales and prostitution. It was normal to see the cops raiding the place or there to break up fights. Since the motel has been taken down and new buildings put up I've seen many more families with young children coming to eat. The whole place feels safer and friendlier.
Tonight my mother will arrive. She's taking out to dinner at Chevy's. It's a family joke because she went into labor with me shortly after eating a huge Mexican meal. It will be my last big meal before I have to fast for tomorrow's C-section.
We have to be at the hospital by eight in the morning which means there won't be time to make a post tomorrow and I doubt I'll be posting from the hospital.
