Five Canyons Park: 10/07/07
After two hours of running errands with Sean and Harriet (mostly to get costume supplies for Harriet's pikmin costume), I took the kids to Five Canyons Park.
It's on the way home if we go the back way from Castro Valley. It over looks the eastern half of Castro Valley and on a clear day the view goes all the way to San Francisco. In fact today we could see the Blue Angels performing over San Francisco Bay. We could see their trails forming interesting shapes as they did their routine.
Sean did most of the playing. He climbed, slide and swung (with help). I got the "weird mommy" award when I showed him how to swing by doing it myself. Then later I chased him up the climbing wall.
Harriet's now the age Sean was when we started taking him to the park on a regular basis. Although she's not walking, I set her on the slide to see what she'd do. She slid down once and asked to go again. So I put her on it again. Midway down she grabbed onto the railing and stopped herself. Then she turned around and started climbing back up the slide using mostly her upper body strength. I had no idea she (or any baby) could do that!
