Comments for The Wishlist

The Wishlist 06/04/10

Is your wishlist as big as your TBR pile? What books are topping your list? Are there any new releases that you are counting down the days for? Share a handful of titles and be sure to share why you want to get your hands on these books! And if another blogger is responsible for that book being on your wishlist, consider sharing a link to their review!

My wishlist is a mess. I'm bad at keeping it up to date. When I first started my wishlist, I had it on Amazon. But frankly, I've gotten tired of the site especially as they've gone more and more towards everything a user does being public. So I haven't updated that wishlist in probably four or five years.

After Amazon, I started using a site called Cliff's which was run by a user and fan of Bookcrossing. It was free and tied into Bookcrossing and another defunct site, Book Relay.

How to Crash a Killer BashWhen Cliff said he'd be shutting down his site and Bookcrossing would be integrating his wishlist system into their own site I got fed up with online wishlists and built my own. Unfortunately I'm even worse about keeping that wishlist current and I've since pulled it down. I'm toying with redesigning and reviving it.

So now my wishlist is part of GoodReads. As it stands, my wishlist is about a third the size of my to be read. To put that into perspective, GoodReads says my wishlist stands at 290 books.

Of all the books though on my wishlist, there is one I'm "counting the days" for it to be released. That book is How to Crash a Killer Bash by Penny Warner. It's the second book in her new mystery series. I will be posting a review of the first book this weekend.

To get through my wishlist I have been putting books on hold at my library. This year I've crossed off a couple dozen books that way. Of course, I add books to my list just as fast (or faster). Below is a selection of 100 books currently on my list.

Wow, your wishlist looks interesting and eclectic. I'm a bad keeper of wishlists myself, so I can relate.

Happy Weekend!

My tastes are certainly ecclectic when it comes to books. Thanks for stopping by.

Well your list looks much prettier than mine. I know what you mean about adding items just as fast (or faster) as you read. If only there was more time

I've only been keeping a wishlist for about a decade. I hate to think how long it will be in another ten years.

Thank you. Happy reading. Maybe you'll get to them quicker than I can.

As long as time permits - I hope you get through a good amount of that list this year...

Happy week hon..

So many cool books so little time. Right now I'm focusing on the review books that have piled up. Then I'll go back to my TBR pile. And finally cylce round again to putting wishlist books on hold at the library.

Molly (Restless Reader)

I've heard good things about The Invisible Bridge. Hope to get to it this Summer.

Please check out my wish list on Restless Reader!

Thanks for sharing! I have my wishlist spread out all over the place, with some on Amazon, some on Goodreads, and some on LibraryThing. Think it just depends on whatever site is handy, as there's really no rhyme or reason to it. Really need to get organized one of these days...

Lots of good books on your list! Feed is near the top of my list, so need to pick that one up soon.

Happy reading!

GoodReads houses my most complete wishlist. Thanks for stopping by.

I stopped using Amazon for the same reason. Now I mainly keep my wishlist on my blog. I can't wait to get Feed.

I had planned to do my wishlist only on my blog but I usually have a copy of my GoodRead's account open. It just was quicker to use GoodReads.

WOW! And that is just a portion of your list? I've been building a GoodReads wishlist for a couple of months now and I'm up to 79. It's you darn book bloggers-before I started blogging I was happy to drift through life picking up whatever book looked good off of my already overstuffed shelves of TBR books. Now I have wants and desires-other book bloggers are like that bad boy in high school you knew you shouldn't want, but you couldn't stay away! :)

Actually it's nearly all of my wishlist on GoodReads. I currently have about 210 books on the list.
