Comments for What Are You Reading: December 27, 2010
I'm ping-ponging up and down California this week. Blogging from the road is tricky as is reading on the road. Most of what I finished last week came before the holiday madness. I went through a small pile of library books (mostly picture books) and one review book.
My current reads are an even mixture of library books and my own personal collection. Kraken was a Christmas gift. It's huge and dense and I plan to read about ten pages a day and thus slowly work my way through it.
My reviews from last week are mostly library books. This year seems to be have been the year of the picture book on my blog. I hope to diversify more next year.
Finished Last Week:

Hey Puss Reboots. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and safe traveling.
Do you think you will be doing more picture books in 2011?
Have a great week!

Yes, I still plan to read picture books. I just want to balance out my reviews a little better to reflect the wide range of things I'm reading. Looking ahead, I have 13 picture book reviews all ready for posting and another 56 picture book reviews to write and post.

I have not heard of these, but your personal collection is quite intriguing and I am off to look them up. My Monday.

My husband just finished a library copy of Kraken and says he wants to re-read it already! I bet he gets my copy read before I do. Sigh.

Thank you. So far it's been a good week of reading between a re-read (well, a listen) to The Graveyard Book and Pump Six and Other Stories.

Wow, The Secret of the Old Clock...I am a big fan of Nancy Drew and haven't read them in ages. I have the first three books, including "clock," on my stacks.

You really have been reading the picture books haven't you? That's great! You know how I feel about picture books. :o) Love them!
Anywho, I'm interested to see what you thought of The Nightmarys, I wasn't so sure about the age appropriateness, but haven't read it myself yet. I'd be interested to read your review.
Hope you have a fantastic reading week and thanks so much for stopping by earlier!

Looking at just December, roughly half of all my reviews were for picture books. For 2010 as a whole, the percentage is more like 33. I guess it's not as high as I first thought.
My son's just shy of the 9 to 12 suggested age range for The Nightmarys and I'd let him read the book if he wanted to. I was reading horror and mysteries when I was a tween and would have loved the book. I still loved it as an adult. It's on my current short list of books I'm recommending to pretty much anyone I see.
