The first was two of my checked out books, Keeping You a Secret by Julie Anne Peters and The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma by Trenton Lee Stewart. Not being able to renew them and having only three days to read them, I set down to finish them. The second thing that happened was one of my Link+ books came in, xxxHolic Volume 12 by CLAMP. So I had to go to the library. My daughter wanted to go to. After playing a round of Dora Memory with her (and losing 17 to 7 pairs) she made a beeline to the shelves of new picture books. After picking out a small pile of them, we snuggled up on one of the library couches and read three of them: Ribbit Rabbit by Candace Ryan, Jam & Honey by Melita Morales and The Honeybee Man by Lela Nargi. Coming up this week I hope to finish Arcadia Falls by Carol Goodman and Innocence by Jane Mendelsohn. If I'm lucky, I'll also find time to finish Cara Mia by Denise Verrico. Books that I might start are Mono Culture by F.S. Michaels, Jane Austen Bites Back by Michael Thomas Ford and The Brisket Book by Stephanie Pierson. I will also probably be reading many of the picture books with my daughter that we checked out today. Gave Up On:

Comment #3: Sunday, June, 26, 2011 at 23:50:19 Wow, you had a fabulous week. I really enjoyed The Shipping News and hope you do as well. Have a wonderful week. My Monday. Comment #4: Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 22:36:35 Pussreboots I love E. Annie Proulx's books and I'm kicking myself for not starting this book sooner. Comment #5: Sunday, June, 26, 2011 at 23:53:02 I enjoyed your post telling of your library visit with your daughter - sweet. Comment #6: Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 22:37:35 Pussreboots I'm glad you liked the post. We had fun today at the library. I have a lot of Cassandra Clare books at home because my husband is a fan. Now it's my turn to read her books. Comment #7: Sunday, June, 26, 2011 at 23:57:18 Nice variety. I know I won't read any picture books until school begins again but I do hope to make a dent in the stack of young adult books I brought home. Happy reading! Comment #8: Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 22:39:35 Pussreboots I'm hardly reading any picture books right now but today was a nice trip to the library with my daughter. I have a stack of middle grade and YA books to get through too. Comment #9: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 01:02:09 aww. i can't wait for my son to grow up so we can read together :) happy reading! Comment #10: Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 22:41:10 Pussreboots Get yourself some board books. Babies love to be read to. Comment #11: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 02:21:57 Awe, I love that you read with your daughter like that. I used to love reading with my parents! :D And wow! You've got a lot of books you're reading right now, how do you read so many at once? Happy Reading! :D Comment #12: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:14:14 Pussreboots I also read with my son although this summer he's mostly reading on his own. But he and I do our 2 person book club. We're reading a manga series together. It's no different than watching a bunch of different TV series in a season. Comment #14: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:16:24 Pussreboots It was a busy weekend and a quiet week. Comment #15: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 05:32:31 so many books! I really want to read or at least watch full metal alchemist. Still waiting for my library to provide it Comment #16: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:19:53 Pussreboots How frustrating that your library doesn't have it. I'm reading FMA through my library and watching Brotherhood via Netflix. Comment #17: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 05:58:48 I've seen Benedict society in other blogs I'm starting to get curious :) Comment #18: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:20:55 Pussreboots The first novel was WONDERFUL. The second was good but took a while to get started. The third was a frustrating rehash of books one and two and really never got my attention. Comment #19: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 06:00:47 Kah Woei @ The Books of My Life Reading is more fun when its a shared experience ... especially with family :-) Comment #20: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:50:00 Pussreboots It can be. But sometimes it's also nice to read alone. Comment #21: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 07:39:38 You have a nice, eclectic mix. Hope you enjoy them all. Thanks for visiting my blog. Comment #22: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:51:13 Pussreboots Thank you. So do I. Happy reading. Comment #23: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 07:46:38 You had a great week and this week looks like it will be just as good. Enjoy! My post is here Comment #24: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:52:14 Pussreboots It was a good but quiet week (compared to when I'm in school full time). This week will probably be even quieter. Comment #25: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 08:43:23 Cara Mia, a beautiful name. I hope the book lives up to its title! Glad you got back to reading at full throttle :D. Comment #26: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:53:24 Pussreboots I'm not sure yet about Cara Mia. It's different from what I usually read. I can say that much. I'm no where near reading at full throttle and it's nice. Comment #27: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 09:41:01 It looks like you had another great week! Thanks for visiting me at Hands and Home. Comment #28: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:54:34 Pussreboots You're welcome. Happy reading. Comment #29: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 10:06:56 I'm thrilled you read The Lake! I will be eager to hear what you thought of it. Comment #30: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 14:54:34 Pussreboots I really liked The Lake. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars at GoodReads. I will get the review posted in July. Comment #31: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 11:09:14 Busy lady reading so many books! I envy you the Clare-, Proulx- and Riordan-books. Have to read them one day! Comment #32: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 15:02:10 Pussreboots After reading at such a frenzied pace last semester it feels like I'm slacking off with my reading. Comment #33: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 14:20:42 Boy you are busy with a lot of good reading!!! Enjoy!! Comment #34: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 15:03:42 Pussreboots I don't feel busy with reading, not after I was so swamped in spring semester. Comment #35: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 14:58:56 I love Shipping News. In fact, I think I am due for a reread on it! Comment #36: Monday, June 27, 2011 at 15:04:45 Pussreboots I am loving it as well. Comment #37: Monday, June, 27, 2011 at 21:11:04 The Babymouse books look very cute but I haven't read any of them yet. Enjoy your week! Comment #38: Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 22:18:11 Pussreboots The Babymouse books are hit or miss for me. Some of them I love but sometimes Babymouse as a character gets on my nerves. © 1997-2013 Sarah Sammis
