Ray Dream 5.5 - Creating a Chair for Bryce

Step 2: Finish the seat back

My second favorite modeling tool are the primatives. The world is made up of shapes built up from or derived from primative: This is especially true of man-made objects. For the rungs of the seat back that connect the two legs together, I created a cube and then modified it to be a long skinny rectangle to fit between the legs.

Create a Square

I changed the view to the left to help in the alignment of the rung. The projections on the walls and floor also help in the alignment of objects. Since the rung was hard to distinguish from the legs, I had to change the material to a different color. I chose yellow.

Once satisfied witht the first rung, I duplicated a few times and then aligned them as well. Ray Dream is pretty good about putting duplicated items where you want them much like the multireplication option in Bryce but it isn't perfect so some manual alignment will be necessary
