and outer glow. Drop shadow helps to give a sense of depth and the outer glow will give a little punch to an object while
hiding any minor problems with its layer transparency (artifacts from extraction, for example).
My initially created custom shape of a briefcase is now sporting a completely different look because of the layer styling applied over the course of this tutorial.
